Can you fold a piece of paper more than 7 times with assisting technology?

As a kid I remember being told you couldn’t fold a piece of paper no matter what the size more than 7 times. I tried over and over again but couldn’t do it. My question is, with the assistance of a hydraulic press, could you fold a piece of paper more than 7 times? Would it still be considered a “fold” after the 7th?

With hydraulics, yeah. But it’s debatable whether the paper is “folded” or simply “crushed”. And it’s also going to look like a compacted car. The edges won’t line up straight.
