What does the date of issuance on a loto scratch card entail?

I noticed that most of the scratch cards say they have to be redeemed “within 12 months from the date of issuance.” As I didn’t find any dates printed on the card, does this date mean the date of purchase, or the date of printing? If the latter, how do you find out when that was if it’s not marked on it?

In the UK a lotto scratchcard has a redeem by time of about 12 months from the cards termination date – ie the date the version of card can no longer be sold to the public, you. In this effect you can safely assume you have a year from the moment you buy the card to claim
