Someone told me 12 hour is the minimum hour if you be a full time student in any university .

If I take 5 hours for the 1st semester, then take 12 hours through my university years. Can I still be a full time student.

It depends on if 12 hours constitutes as full time at that university. If you do that, you will be part time your first semester and full time after that. Sometimes different rules apply to part time students so check into that. Rules such as: can’t join certain clubs, can’t live in the dorms, certain scholarships don’t apply.

12 hours isn’t full time at every university. We have a junior college here where 15 hours is considered the minimum full time, so it’s different everywhere (though 12 hours is normal). And some schools use credits instead of hours.
