Habaki

****Katana Disassembling****?
Hi, this is a question for the “sword experts.” I hear on more high quality katanas it is necessary to disassemble them. I was wondering if you clean the hilt (Tuska) and the other components found near the grip of the sword. (Tusba, Menuki, Kashira, Fuchi, Seppa, Habaki) Rather than the traditional brass and iron, my sword has silver seppa, habaki, menuki, and fuchi. It has blackened copper tusba and kashira. should i apply any type of cleaning substance on these components? or is a good wipe down with a soft cloth sufficient?
thank you for your help and time.
I see no reason to remove the Tsuka. If there is some problem that you did not mention then maybe. For regular practice the normal sword cleaning kit is all you should need. I clean my Katana after every practice session.
Hope this helps!
