How to teach a dog how to roll over the other way?

My puppy can understand the commands sit, down, roll over, shake hands, high five and bang (play dead). I want to teach him to roll over the other way but for some reason he isn’t getting it. He learned roll over in two days. Do your dogs roll over both ways? Do dogs have a preference to roll over on one side only? Any tips?

Dogs like humans have a preferred side or to put it simply are righty’s or Lefty’s ……. you can teach them to roll over in the other direction ….. change the command to something different such as “back” or “back over”. you have to change up the command some what so that the pup can differentiate the difference, so to get him to roll over to the right you would say “roll over” to get him to roll over to the left you would say “back over” dropping the word roll off of the second command. Dogs recognize letter pronunciations more than words ….. so in most cases if you just told the dog to “roll” he would perform the same trick without having said “over”
