Mini Pit Bike Befitting Mini-Me
If you have ever seen an oversized rider on an undersized machine, this is perhaps the easiest way to imagine what one looks like on a mini pit bike. Suffice to say, a pit bike drew its origins as a means of simple yet efficient travel within the pit area during racing events. As its popularity grew, road usage for mini bikes increased. It was soon elevated to the ranks of an actual racing machine whilst maintaining its small power capacity. As time progressed, the temptation to inject more power finally overcame its initial design. Hence, the pit bike’s power was doubled and it finally grew up, unlike Peter Pan.
Since most pit bikes are now more powerful, it possible hit a nerve with conventional pit bike racers who wanted to preserve the sanctity of its origins. Hence, they turned back the clock and created mini pit bikes to pay homage to the initial versions, not bigger but just better. By adding more accessories as well as making some modifications, these mini bikes are then customized for racing. Although they lack in power, these bikes still gets up to sufficient speeds which can prove to be treacherous for the driver and whoever else they come in close contact with. As such, it is imperative that riders don appropriate helmets and attire to protect themselves whether for leisurely rides or heart-pounding races.
A mini bike is a good instrument to teach a child how to ride a bike as its size is more suited to a child. Even so, it is important to observe the rules and regulations on road usage for mini bikes. Some laws may ban children from owning or riding bikes of a certain size and higher. To ensure proper safety at all times, it is best to attend formal bike riding classes to learn how to properly ride these motorized vehicles.
All in all, a mini pit bike may be a subconscious need to hold on to one’s youth. Not surprisingly, this similar phenomenon is also seen in adult riders on their BMX bikes. Perhaps they are all reincarnations of the Lost Boys from Never-Never land.
