A fun weekend in Nottingham is all about getting active so get off your bum and check out our pick of the best active weekends this lively city has to offer.

The National Water Sports Centre is a short hop from the city centre, and you’ll have the chance to do just about anything on water here. Choose from white-water rafting on the adrenalin pumping man made course, water skiing, kayaking, surfing, power-boating or sailing to name a few. This is the perfect place for water babies who love a bit of action, and there’s full tuition available for beginners.

So, you’ve dried off and now it’s time to head to the National Ice Centre, to test your skating skills. Make like the stars and enjoy a dance on ice, or laugh at yourself as you fall flat on your face. Whatever your skating talents, you’ll be able to practice them here. Of course, the National Ice Centre is also home to the oldest Ice Hockey team in the UK – the Nottingham Panthers. If your ice skating skills are above average then why not take it one step further and take part in an ice hockey game, but you will need some of your own kit for this one!

Ok, now it’s time to warm up and try our fabulous Bungee Running Package! This course is so much fun, you’ll be laughing your way down the bungee run, until the mighty power of the bungee cord pulls you all the way back to the start. How far will you get? You’ll also have the chance to test your wits on the Rage Buggies, Quad Bikes or Chuckle Buggies. Compete against your mates for the fastest times! This package also includes VIP club entry and one night’s accommodation so you can rest your weary head after a fun-filled, action packed day!

Now we’re heading out to the forest, and no, not to spot some men in tights! There’s a huge variety of action packed activities on offer here, so why not try some 4×4 off road-ing or the somewhat more challenging blindfold driving. Yes, you are actually blindfolded as you listen to your team’s instructions and try to steer the sporty 4×4 around the course and finish in one piece. If you fancy a fitness challenge, then have a go at smashing some time records on the Jungle Assault Course as you cover two acres of land attempting to negotiate rope ladders, scramble nets, walls, bridges and pools, to name a few. If you do well, a place on the Krypton Factor may well be yours!! Speed freaks and rally fans have to try the Rally Driving experience; after a tutorial from qualified instructors you’ll be let loose on the tracks in a full-specification Peugeot Rally Car.

And, if all that wasn’t active enough, why don’t you try a fantastic and challenging team-building or multi activity days? From physical assault courses to off-road driving and sheep dog handling, there are activities to suit everyone here. Your day can be tailor made to include the fun-filled action packed challenges that you and your team want to take part in.
